Expanded Services
MJT’s Expanded Services include assessments, professional and organisational support, psycho-educational programmes, clinician-facilitated groups, and clinical consultation and supervision services offered beyond our standard therapy pathways (listed under Core Services).
** Some Expanded Services listed below may be available by enquiry, or shaped around clinical availability.
Clinical Assessments
Our assessments support formal reporting, treatment planning, and recovery planning.
Neuropsychological Assessments
For individuals with known or possible neurological challenges:
• Medico-Legal Assessments: Evaluations and reports for Road Accident Fund claims, personal injury matters, and private insurance claims.
• Disability Assessments & SARS Confirmations: Formal clinical testing required by employers, insurers, or SARS.
• Clinical Neurocognitive Testing: Assessment of cognitive functioning and related areas, to identify the functional impact of injury, illness, or neurological difficulty.
Personality & Specialised Assessments
To better understand and support individuals, in context:
• Aptitude & Educational Testing: Academic and learning-related evaluations for children and teens, to identify school readiness and support needs.
• Addiction-Related Assessments: Specialised screening and profiling to gain insight into the psychological drivers of dependency and support recovery planning.
• Personality & Emotional Assessments: Clinical testing to explore personality traits, coping mechanisms, emotional symptoms, and therapy needs.
Professional Wellness
MJT offers psychologically informed services for both private and public organisations, including non-profit, academic, healthcare, and other professional spaces. These services seek to support EAPs, wellness initiatives, executives and managers, professional teams, and related organisational contexts.
The focus may include workplace wellbeing, burnout prevention and recovery, staff wellbeing and retention, stress management, leadership pressure, team communication, organisational transitions, emotional resilience, professional identity, and the human impact of work and organisational life.
Services may include workshops, consultations, tailored wellbeing input, professional development sessions, and support for teams or organisations seeking a more thoughtful approach to mental health and sustainable functioning.
Psycho-Education & Skills-Based Learning
Our group-based and workshop-based psycho-educational programmes are designed to build insight, self-awareness, emotional resilience, interpersonal understanding, and clearer life direction. These offerings may include Life Navigation, addiction recovery education, relational skills, positive psychology-informed wellbeing, CBT-informed healthy coping tools, DBT-informed self-regulation skills, practical life skills for teens and young adults, and general support around decision-making, stress, communication, goal-setting, and broader self-development.
Psycho-education differs from therapy in that the primary focus is structured learning, reflection, and skills development for future use.
Programmes may be adapted for schools, organisations, families, adolescents, adults, professional groups, or community settings.
Group Therapy & Support Groups
These are clinician-facilitated spaces for individuals who may benefit from therapeutic discussion, guided reflection, peer support, connection, and psycho-educational input around mental health challenges and shared life experiences.
Group themes may include:
Burnout & Stress Recovery (read more under Resources » Articles)
Bipolar Spectrum Support (read more under Resources » Articles)
Men’s Mental Health (read more under Resources » Articles)
Social Connection & Wellbeing (read more under Resources » Articles)
Addiction Recovery / TORP-Linked Groups (read more under Resources » Articles)
Groups may be offered in person or online, depending on the nature of the group, clinical suitability, participant needs, and practical logistics. Participation may require a brief enquiry or screening process, especially where the individual is not already known to the practice. This helps ensure that the group is appropriate, safe, and clinically suitable for participants.
Clinical Consultation & Supervision
MJT offers clinical consultant & supervision services for registered psychologists seeking structured professional support around client work, case formulation, treatment planning, ethical practice, therapeutic process, and clinical decision-making.
This provides a reflective and confidential space for analysis and discussion of client care, professional development, clinical complexity, and ongoing responsibilities of psychological practice.
Clinical consultation & supervision services are offered in person or online.
